Babar Azam equals Virat Kohli, Aaron Finch’s T20I record
Manchester: Pakistan’s limited-overs captain Babar Azam against England at the Old Trafford, on Sunday, became the joint-fastest batsman to reach 1500 T20I runs.
The 25-year-achieved the feat in his 39th innings. Australia’s Aaron Finch and India’s Virat Kohli had previously reached the milestone in the same number of innings as him.
Babar is currently at the first spot in the ICC batting ranking for men, in this format of the game. He is also at the third spot in ODI and fifth spot in Test cricket.
It must be noted that he holds a unique record of being the only batsman to feature in the top-five spot in the ICC batting rankings of all three formats.
